SUBS CLOSED.
What are we looking for?
It's clear by the fact that we want random submissions that we aren't looking for anything in particular. We would absolutely love it however, if your submission is something you've been rejected for before, or a piece that you love but can't seem to find a home. After all, those pieces of work is what this magazine stands for.
Guidelines
-
All submissions should be sent to rinnanliterary@gmail.com.
-
We want work under 5000 words please.
-
NO bigoted work. We do proofread the selected pieces for publication, and we don't want any anti-semitic/misogynist/homophobic/transphobic work or any work that glorifies rape/misogyny.
-
We also don't want work that is NSFW, as our editor is a minor.
-
Simultaneous submissions are a-ok, just let us know!
-
Previously published work is also ok (though not encouraged), as long as it is not in violation of previous publication rights.
The submission process.
At the end of a submission period, we go through five different processes that determine which 15-20 pieces we will publish. If we get, say, only 20 submissions and proceed to eliminate 10 by the second step, we will stop there.
-
We divide the pieces into groups of 20(or 10, depending on the number of submissions) and then number them accordingly within those groups. If certain pieces are left over, they get eliminated.
-
Siri/google chooses either odd or even, so we eliminate all pieces that are not odd/even in each group.
-
Our editor then plays the google dino game. When they lose, the last digit of their score is matched to the numbers assigned to the pieces and all pieces with that number or a multiple of that number pass through to the next stage.
-
New groups, if needed, are made, either of 10 or twenty pieces. All pieces left behind are eliminated.
-
The editor puts the groups (depending on the number) on a sheet of paper, blindfolds themselves, spins the sheet around and tears off as many pieces of the sheet as they can, leaving just a small part. They then remove the blindfold and choose that group as the one that shall be published.
