Self Portrait as the Town Centre

By Hanin Ramadhani

My eyes are scanners

disguised as fancy streetlights,

ears and nose in the lampposts

glued to the ground,

and mouth a speaker made

for the freshest tunes.

My skin is now dressed

in a colourful mosaic

of replications, costumes

tailored specially for this race—

for in my finite hours

I want to be, and contain,

multitudes.
